The Barabati Fort is one of the points of attraction in Kataka for the visitors, which is situated between the two rivers Mahnadi and Kathjori. As per the Madalapanji the Barabati fort was built in the 989 A.D by the Ganga dynasty. The famous Barabati Stadium, which is said to be the venue for various sports, events and cultural programs, is situated next to the Barabati fort. The famous temple of Goddess Katak Chandi is also situated near the fort.
